Allt Cill Chriosd Dun

This dun is sited on an elongated, rocky ridge on the bank of Allt Cill Chroisd, about 650m WSW of Cillchriosd farmhouse.  It is surrounded by steep, rocky slopes, except on the north side where it can be approached along the spine of the ridge.

It is roughly circular in plan with an inner court measuring 11 m in diameter.  The wall varies between 2.1 and 3.6 m in thickness, extensive lenghts of the outer wall having survived in place.  The inner wall is less well preserved, only a few isolated inner facing-stones having survived in position.  The entrance is on the SSW and appears to have been about 1.5 m wide.
