Our Lady of the Sea

There have always been a small number of Catholics in Tobermory.

12 in 1843 (see Statistical Account) but since the Reformation until recently there was no permanent place of worship.

Mass was said in various halls and people's homes.

The present chapel was dedicated in 1973 after a chapel fund was launched in 1960 and piece of ground gifted in 1970.
